Valipac.Academy, your reference for sustainable packaging.

In many sectors, R&D is currently organised around circularity. Packaging producers and users also want to make their offer more sustainable. However, the approach is not always effective. Companies using the same packaging for a long time, sometimes have a narrow view on the possibilities for optimisation. That is why Valipac gathered its expertise on commercial and industrial (C&I) packaging in the module "sustainable packaging" on the Valipac.Academy website.

Design4recycling guidelines

The "Design4Recycling Guidelines" section focuses on eco-design, with guidelines for the most common types of C&I packaging. When designing packaging, the first step is to assess the possibility of opting for reusable packaging, bearing in mind that eventually it will also have to be recycled. The use of mono-material packaging plays a major role. If this is not possible, make sure that the packaging components can be easily separated. The golden rule is always to use as few disruptive agents as possible, such as inks, dyes, etc.

Packaging recyclability

Assess the recyclability of your packaging with the "yourpackagingscore" test and download the results in the form of a report detailing any improvement points. "Quick wins" help you to rapidly obtain more sustainable packaging.

Packaging diagnostics

These diagnostics are aimed at companies that want to optimise their packaging but don't know where to start. This free service is offered to Valipac and Fost Plus clients in collaboration with IBE, MPR&S and Celabor.  During a half-day visit, the packaging and the methods used are analysed. This is not an audit, but an assessment of the current situation and the possibilities for optimisation. The report contains advice that the company can implement. Interested?
